Schwalenberg listens to a book

We are delighted to be part of this fantastic literary event this year!

This year's event is entirely dedicated to the theme: "Bert Brecht's birthday: "The Yes-Sayer and the No-Sayer" and other texts by and about Bertolt Brecht – the doors to literature and encounters open in Schwalenberg!

"Schwalenberg Listens to a Book" begins at 9:00 a.m. From then until 5:00 p.m., a variety of works by Bertolt Brecht can be enjoyed as audiobooks. The event operates on a hop-on, hop-off principle: participants can visit and leave the venues at any time. The starting point and information center is Polhof 3. Admission to the venues and the performance is free.

In private homes and public spaces this Sunday, people will listen to the grand master and creator of epic theatre, Bertolt Brecht. 'Mother Courage' – 'The Threepenny Opera' – 'Mr. Puntila and His Servant' – 'The Life of Galileo' – the list could go on endlessly, for Bertolt Brecht was a workaholic of his time, a driven, brilliant theatre maker who has had a lasting impact on the literary, theatre, advertising and film industries to this day.

Visitors will experience this epic theatrical event not only through their ears and a culinary program, but all five senses will be stimulated when the parable "The Yes-Sayer and the No-Sayer" is performed in a modern adaptation by the JobAct ensemble from Paderborn, open air at the Polhof in Schwalenberg. Those interested in this highlight can reserve free tickets by calling the organizing Kelter- und Kultur Verein e. V. at +49 5284 942 8342.

With us, you can listen to "Mother Courage" from 4 pm onwards – accompanied by the lighting from the previous day!
