To aesthetically justify existence – and to observe oneself in the process. Or to admit that one doesn't actually understand what is happening around oneself or in the world. A "poetry of beautiful indifference," which leaves no one unmoved, might be a first step in this direction. 

Willi van Hengel has composed a selection of his previously published texts. His poetry is tender, his style experimental and clear, rich in contrasts and lyrical. He is supported by the sensitive sounds of Magnus Tautz on the piano.

Jetzt sitze ich wieder hier wie damals –
da hingen beide Zeiger noch schlaff herab
(frühs um halb sechs) …
in der noch verschlafenen Sonne
zwischen Hühnerstall und Obstwiese …
Es war so etwas wie eine allmähliche Eroberung.
Oder eine Liebeserklärung,
bei der man dir zuflüstert:
Zerquetsch die Sauerkirsche nicht!
